A couple of weeks ago we instituted Wednesday as the shopping day, where we try and stock up for the next week. And because that's when the specials come out at the grocery stores.
Weekly paper ads are a pain in the rear. But you know what, I've discovered that at most grocery stores you can find the ads online.
If you take the time to look at them and see whats on special that you actually buy, it can save you a lot of money.
Of course, we still get most of our groceries from Super Wally World.
Hopefully, this week we'll start with the spreadsheet that tracks the prices of the stuff we usually buy at the various grocery stores, that way, when things aren't on special, we'll know who usually has it the cheapest.
And sometime soon, I hope to start keeping an inventory of what we have, that way we can stock up when things are really cheap and track what we use a lot of. The goal is to keep 4 weeks worth of the things we use on hand most of the time. (Excluding things that go bad, like milk of course.) When you stay ahead, it's easier to take the opportunities when they arise, rather than go "Shoot! We're out of this, just go pick it up!"
I think I'm going to spend some time today studing more in that statistics textbook that I was looking at yesterday. It's definitely facinating stuff. Or maybe I should just try and get a teachers edition of a stats textbook. One thing with this is, there are no where near enough practise questions in it for the fourmulae to really sink in.
I think I'll have a more in depth post on this topic later.
Submitted info at the beginning of the month. Heard nothing.
Called them last week. Said it should have been processed already, sent to research.
Still haven't called back.
Need to call them today.
Still need to do that post regarding efficiency.
And of course other stuff as I think of it.
Have a great day, ya'll.
