We were 6 - 4 and we're now 7 - 8. Yeah, one win in the last 5.
And you know what, as bad as we've played and looked at times, we're still in the race for the playoffs!
I'm leaving out the scenario where it can end in a tie so...
• Carolina can clinch a playoff berth with a win plus a NY Giants loss plus a Green Bay loss.
Lessee, the Giants are playing the 'Skins.
And the Packers are at Chicago.
However, it doesn't matter if they both lose. The Panthers will not win. Look at their records the past 4 years.
2002 : 7-9
2003 : 11-5
2004 : 7-9
2005 : 11-5
Notice a pattern there?
In '04 winning their final game against New Orleans would have gotten them into the playoffs. So here they are, once again 7-8, the playoffs on the line, with a final game against the Saints.
And the pattern will continue. ~sigh~
At least that means I can probably look forward to an 11-5 year next year!
