It's so easy to put me in a good mood!

I dunno how much any of you know about secret shoppers, but they are people hired by companies to come in and see if restaurant or retail employees and such are doing what they are supposed to.

Well, in my first 9 months at the Star, I never got shopped. For a while, I was begging to think it wouldn't happen. At a restaurant, it's random who gets shopped. Whatever section the shopper happens to land in.

Well, finally in December, I got shopped. And I failed, badly. It didn't help that the person who answered the phone waited 9 rings before they picked it up. And that our non-English speaking host apparently was a little rude when they got sat, so I was set up with pissed off shoppers. The manager when reading the report said, I was set up to fail.

So fast forward to last night. It's after work, and I'm chilling out, watching the first half of the Duke game before I go home at halftime. The phone rings, so I pick it up and do my usual "Thank you for calling Lone Star Steakhouse and Saloon, this is Wayland, how may I help you?" It's the district manager.

Well, after a brief conversation, he lets me know, I got shopped again. And I got a 100%. ~commences happy dance~

Which is cool in and of itself. But get this, when you get a 100 on a shopper. You get 100 bucks too!

~does another happy dance~

So needless to say, I'm in a much better mood today!
